The final edition of BLAZE Be Your Own Boss (BYOB) youth summits is to take place in Kisumu County this Saturday 29th October. The last of the six regional summits will take place at the Simba Union Grounds, where youth from the region will get an opportunity to learn more about unconventional careers and meet the BLAZE mentors. The other summits were held in Eldoret, Thika, Mombasa, Nairobi and Nakuru, where an estimated 37,000 young people learned more about their passions in various fields from a host of mentors succeeding in those professions. The Kisumu summit will also offer the final chance to audition for the BYOB TV show, which will see 12 participants tasked with impressing a bench of judges in the hope of securing funding for their businesses as well as further mentorship opportunities. “It’s been a great learning experience not just for the BLAZE subscribers, but also for the mentors who have benefited from the exposure and growth that has come with sharing their stories and tips to fellow youth who look up to them,” said Sylvia Mulinge, Director – Consumer Business, Safaricom.
